Where and How to Take the WAIS in Ireland

Private WAIS testing in Ireland is arranged with a PSI-listed chartered psychologist who has adult assessment experience; HSE psychology follows a separate needs-led pathway.

Choose a private psychologist or HSE pathway by what you need

For private testing, use the Psychological Society of Ireland directory. Look for PSI chartered status plus relevant adult assessment experience, and choose a service suited to your cognitive, educational, diagnostic, or formal documentation purpose.

HSE Primary Care Psychology accepts referrals and self-referrals within its service criteria and waiting lists. The service chooses the assessment according to clinical need and service criteria; it is not a consumer route for booking a specified WAIS package or signed WAIS report.

Irish WAIS costs separates a focused test from report-ready and diagnostic packages.

WAIS is often one part of a broader Irish assessment

WAIS-IV UK is established in Irish practice, while providers are moving to WAIS-5 UK at different times. The appropriate norm set depends on the person and purpose of the assessment, not simply on the edition's supply route.

After intake, the psychologist administers the assessment, interprets the scores, gives feedback, and issues the report. Irish WAIS result timing explains those dates. Before booking, confirm the edition and norm set, how feedback will be given, and whether the service includes a signed report for your purpose.
