Most private WAIS reports take two to four weeks
| Assessment scope | Practical time after final testing |
|---|---|
| Focused cognitive service | Around 2 weeks |
| Standard assessment with a formal-use report | About 2–4 weeks |
| Broader multi-test or diagnostic work | Often longer than 4 weeks |
The count begins when all testing and required records are complete. Private and HSE waiting lists occur before that report-turnaround period. Additional interviews, records, tests, and diagnostic integration explain the longer turnaround. The Irish access guide covers booking.
Feedback, the signed report, and diagnosis can be separate steps
Oral feedback can precede a draft or signed psychological report. A medical diagnosis or decision by a school, employer, insurer, or other body can follow later.
For self-understanding, the feedback date may be enough. For formal submission, wait for the signed document and allow additional time for the recipient's decision. Irish WAIS costs explains package differences, and how to read WAIS results explains the scores.
