Choose supervised testing or prior evidence
Australian Mensa uses the top-2% standard for admission. Applicants can take its supervised entrance test or submit prior evidence from an accepted professionally administered intelligence test.
The supervised test is for people aged 10 to 75. Applicants under 10 use prior evidence, and those aged 10 to 18 need parental permission. The published test and evaluation fee is AUD 75, or AUD 60 with a concession.
The supervised test decides admission eligibility. Confirm the result format, delivery timing, and current waiting-period or repeat-attempt rule in the selected live route.
Prior evidence requires an approved current test
The Australian Mensa prior-evidence route requires a result from an approved test. Its published conditions state that the latest version of the approved test must have been administered by a psychologist with general registration.
An online consumer IQ test is not accepted as prior evidence. Confirm the accepted test version and composite, qualifying score or percentile, psychologist registration, document format, and current review fee before arranging or submitting an assessment.
Match the assessment to the goal
The supervised-test fee, prior-evidence review, and membership dues are separate payments. If membership is the only goal, supervised testing is the direct route for an age-eligible applicant. A professional assessment serves a separate purpose when professional interpretation or documentation for education, work, NDIS, health, or legal use is also needed; Australian Mensa still decides whether that result qualifies as prior evidence.
