WAIS-5 India is expected to be released around 2030, most likely in 2029 or 2030. The previous adult edition followed the US edition by five years, while a recent Indian adaptation took six years.
WAIS-IV India was released five years after the US edition
WAIS-IV India was released in 2013, about five years after the US edition appeared in 2008. More recently, the Indian edition of Bayley-4, which assesses infant and toddler development, arrived six years after the original edition.

The US WAIS-5 was released in 2024. A five-year interval, matching the previous adult edition, points to 2029. Allowing for the six years required by the recent Indian adaptation places the most likely window in 2029–2030.
The WAIS-5 kit on sale is separate from WAIS-5 India
WAIS-5 test kits are already on sale, while WAIS-IV India remains the current adult edition with Indian norms. They are treated as separate products.
Obtaining the new test kit and using a new edition standardised with data from Indian adults will happen at different times. For WAIS-5 India, the expected release remains around 2030.
