Choose a 2026 admission test or prior evidence
Mensa New Zealand publishes 2026 in-person admission-test events in several cities and also accepts prior evidence from a qualifying assessment. Both routes cost NZD 60, with a NZD 45 concession under their respective conditions.
The admission test reports whether the membership standard was met, not a specific IQ score. If the applicant qualifies, the test fee converts into a one-year membership subscription. For the selected event, confirm its age eligibility and any waiting period before another attempt.
The test concession applies to students and unwaged applicants. For prior evidence, the NZD 45 rate applies to applicants who are under 18, retired, unwaged, or students.
Prior evidence requires supervised testing and formal documents
The prior-evidence application requires an original or notarized copy from an assessment administered under appropriate supervision by a qualified, neutral third party. Automated online IQ tests are not accepted.

A Mensa New Zealand test provides an eligibility decision.
